Our heritage and history at Mott MacDonald is pretty impressive Today marks 99 years since John Vernon Bartlett was born. He wasn’t just leading Mott, Hay and Anderson or the ICE, he reshaped tunnelling with the bentonite shield. A simple idea with a massive impact on safety, cost and what engineers could take on. That first test at New Cross kicked off something much bigger. You can still see the influence in Mott MacDonald rail and metro projects across the world. Interesting to see how that thinking still carries through today? https://mottm.ac/3S5rNTB Shamelessly also piques my interest being from New Cross!
