Researchers from #KITKarlsruhe and BASF are working on a patent for a battery technology that improves energy storage. The novel cathode-coating process uses light pulses to make batteries more efficient.🔋 In a one-year project, Dr. Miriam Botros, materials scientist at KIT’s Institute of Nanotechnology and her team investigated the suitability of a special class of materials – so-called high-entropy oxides – as a protective layer for cathodes. They use light pulses for a millisecond to apply a layer of oxides with a chemically complex composition. Read more about their research in the latest issue of #lookKIT, KIT’s research magazine. 🔗: 1st comment.
