How can AI systems better apply the behavior they have learned to new, previously unknown situations? Dr. André Biedenkapp will be addressing this question in the future at #KITKarlsruhe. For his research on improving the generalizability of reinforcement learning methods, he has successfully secured an Emmy Noether Group grant from the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG) - German Research Foundation and will receive approximately 1.2 million euros over the next three years. Following a successful interim evaluation after the first three years, the DFG has pledged approximately 920,000 euros for an additional three years.
