MSAT Process Technologist at GSK

This August recently marked the end of my 12-month placement in Analytical Development at FUJIFILM Diosynth Biotechnologies As a research analyst in Analytical Development, I’ve had the opportunity to work on various projects, developing analytical methods to manufacture drugs on a large scale. Having the privilege of working with a wide range of analysts, teams and projects partnering with other universities has been instrumental in helping me advance my laboratory skills. On a professional level, I have been trusted to take leadership on aspects of projects, which challenged my thinking and made me feel like a valued member of the department. This year has allowed me to grow my technical and commercial knowledge within the industry, providing invaluable insight to take into the future. Thank you to everyone at FDBK for making this placement so enjoyable; from the sports and barbecue events to all the friends I’ve made, I will miss it immensely. A special thanks to Daniel Pettit for giving me this incredible opportunity and to Deirdre Boland for allowing me to be highly involved in the High throughput automation team. I have loved my time at FDBK; I am very grateful to have been given this role and to work with such a brilliant team. I am looking forward to taking the knowledge and skills I have learned here into my final year studying Biochemistry at University of Leeds.
