KINZO x BIM Chris Middleton and Lorenzo Soldi explain how BIM brings together complex Interior architecture projects, creates transparency and strengthens collaboration. "BIM has to be so democratic because you are only a small part of a whole: everyone needs to come together to form." Lorenzo Soldi, architect, on the BIM collaboration regarding the project Haus des Wissens, by Stadt Bochum. What we think is most important to us: 1. BIM creates a seamless planning process For Kinzo, the greatest benefit of BIM lies in the seamless collaboration between all those involved – from architects and specialist designers to other stakeholders. BIM brings the various disciplines together into a single, shared process. 2. Transparency improves collaboration Everyone involved in the project can see what others are working on. This fosters greater mutual understanding, better coordination and a more open planning process. 3. BIM speeds up decision-making Thanks to the shared database and the ability to identify conflicts at an early stage, coordination becomes more efficient and decisions are made more quickly. 4. Three-dimensional models make meetings more successful BIM enables projects to be understood spatially in real time. This improves communication, particularly in digital meetings, and provides a better basis for decision-making. 5. BIM promotes a holistic approach BIM helps people to look beyond their own perspective. Projects are understood as a collaborative endeavour in which different interests and areas of expertise come together. Chris Middleton says: "We see a huge number of benefits in this, and it enables us to create a seamless process across the entire project, involving all specialist planners and all stakeholders."
