The HbbTV ecosystem evolves through collaboration, testing, and real-world validation. Starting this Monday, this process becomes tangible once again in Naples. From June 22 to 26, Kineton HQ will host the International Plugfest & HbbTV Testing Event 2026, in collaboration with the HbbTV Association, bringing together broadcasters, manufacturers, platform operators, and technology providers to test and validate the next generation of connected TV technologies. After weeks of preparation, the focus now shifts from planning to execution. Across the coming days, industry teams will work side by side on: → HbbTV and DVB-I implementations → UHD, HDR and NGA workflows → device and platform interoperability → end-to-end validation of broadcast and broadband services → real-world testing of next-generation TV ecosystems At the center of this collaborative environment, Kineton MediaCert will support participants as a testing and validation platform, enabling faster iteration, more reliable execution, and stronger alignment across implementations.
