Kinepolis Brussels joins a highly select group of IMAX cinemas worldwide capable of projecting films in IMAX 70mm Film, alongside only a handful of locations across Europe. The opening coincides with the release of The Odyssey, the highly anticipated new film from Christopher Nolan, which will be proudly presented in IMAX 70mm Film. Ahead of today’s general presales launch, demand for The Odyssey in IMAX 70mm has gone through the roof over the past few days — clear proof of the excitement surrounding this exceptional moviegoing experience. But nothing beats the enthusiasm of our own people, some of whom had the unique privilege of helping move an iconic IMAX 70mm film projector up the stairs. The projection booth floor was reinforced to support the projector’s weight of more than 1,500 kilograms, while an additional projection window was installed to accommodate the format. As our CEO Eddy Duquenne puts it: "Our IMAX Brussels theatre is an iconic venue with a rich history dating back to the early days of IMAX.
