We’re working with the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet to improve I-65 in Louisville. 🏗️ More than 125,000 drivers travel this stretch of I-65 every day. This summer’s closure is helping our team accelerate work to deliver a safer, more reliable corridor. The I-65 Central Corridor project will replace and rehabilitate nine aging bridges to enhance safety, reduce long-term maintenance costs and support the region's future transportation needs. During this summer's closure, our team is focused on the three bridges most in need of repair. Crews have worked around the clock to complete demolition and have already begun setting structural steel and precast deck panels ahead of schedule. By maximizing work during this closure, the team is eliminating at least one year of future traffic restrictions along I-65, helping minimize impacts for drivers. Originally constructed in the 1950s as part of the interstate's initial buildout, these bridges are nearing the end of their service life. In addition to bridge improvements, the project includes reconstructed sidewalks and modernized lighting beneath and adjacent to the structures.
