We honor the life of Dr. Clarence B. Jones, who left us on May 22 at the age of 95. As a brilliant lawyer and trusted advisor to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., Dr. Jones altered the course of American history. He defended civil rights organizations in times of intense scrutiny, coordinated vital movement efforts, and lent his pen to the drafting of the historic "I Have a Dream" speech. In profound gratitude for his life's work, our new East Palo Alto Center is proud to dedicate our outdoor play area as the “Dr. Clarence B. Jones Legacy of Justice Playground.” Alongside this space, we have planted three trees to honor the memory of Dr. Jones and his parents. Dr. Jones, thank you for helping to cultivate a more just and compassionate world. As these trees grow, so too will the children who fill this playground with life—blessed with a safe, welcoming place to dream just as you did.
