Recently i need a new place. Tried to rent a studio unit. Landlord didn’t bother hiring a lawyer and is ok to use my draft. I saw the chance. Took a standard tenancy agreement, bent it 4 ways in my favour, and sent it over hoping the landlord is dumb enough not to bother reading it. Agent came back with the attached write up , spotting and rejecting the same 4 points, with arguments and recommendation sharp enough to smell like AI. I praised the landlord’s “AI skills.” but turn out Agent said nope, that’s his doing to add free extra service to his client. See the problem? By putting only negligible effort, even property agents can now use AI to help unrepresented landlords to review tenancy or spa drafts for free. If the legal industry keep doing things the old way, refusing to improvise or add value or change the way we deliver our services, one day we’ll wake up and realise… we’re irrelevant and worthless. P.S. Landlord refused my proposed 2-month termination notice without penalty. I don't wish to be tied down anymore. I didn’t get to rent the place in the end.
