Today, following the earthquake in Venezuela, many of us are experiencing a feeling that is all too familiar. Distance feels different when communications are down. When messages don’t come through. When calls won’t connect. When the only update that matters is knowing that the people we love are safe. Millions of Venezuelans have built lives abroad in search of opportunity, stability, and a better future. Yet days like today remind us that, no matter how far we have traveled, we remain deeply connected to every city, every neighborhood, and every family member we left behind. Migration teaches us how to live with longing. But in moments of uncertainty and emergency, that distance can quickly turn into helplessness. My thoughts are with all Venezuelans, both at home and around the world, who are waiting for a call, a message, or a sign that their loved ones are safe. I also want to acknowledge those working tirelessly to respond to the situation and restore communications. There are moments when geography becomes irrelevant, and an entire nation beats as one. #Venezuela #VenezuelanDiaspora #Solidarity #Community #Resilience
