How much packaging is actually protecting your product… and how much is just filler? I don’t know about you, but I’m receiving more and more deliveries these days — and I’m constantly surprised at how much wasted space there is inside the box. You open it up and you’re met with: Foam inserts Paper stuffing Air pillows Endless layers to dig through Half the time, it feels like you’re foraging just to find what you actually ordered. 💡 There’s a smarter way to do it. Cardboard edge protectors aren’t just for pallets — they can be used inside the box too. 👉 Placing edge protectors in the four corners of a box: Reinforces structural strength Reduces the need for filler materials Allows for smaller, more efficient box sizes Cuts down waste significantly Less void fill, less frustration, more sustainable packaging. 📦 And on the outside of the box? Edge protectors play an even bigger role: Stabilising pallet loads Preventing crushing and transit damage Reducing returns and customer complaints Enhancing retail-ready presentation 🍔 Particularly in food & beverage, where damage risk is high: Palletised drinks (especially glass bottles) → high breakage risk Chilled meal boxes → prone to collapse and corner damage Retail-ready cartons → presentation is everything Export pallets → long-distance stability is critical ✅ The takeaway? Smarter packaging doesn’t mean more material — it means using the right material in the right place. 👉 Reduce waste 👉 Improve protection 👉 Deliver a better customer experience If you’re reviewing your packaging approach, it might be worth asking: Are you protecting your product… or just filling empty space? 👉 Find out more or get in touch here: https://lnkd.in/es34nqhs #Packaging #Sustainability #FoodAndBeverage #Logistics #SupplyChain #Ecommerce #Manufacturing
