The 55th BALENCIAGA Couture Collection marks Creative Director Pierpaolo Piccioli's first contribution to the House's couture lineage. Returning to the principles that define Balenciaga as a Maison de Couture, the collection embraces its axioms, anomalies and truths, placing the métier once again at the heart of the House's meaning. Garments move between austerity and exuberance as tailoring dissolves into flou, echoing Cristóbal Balenciaga's ideology through a distinctly contemporary vision.​ Three-dimensional body scans, concealed leather carapaces, neo-gazar, a reinterpretation of the textile invented by Cristóbal Balenciaga, and bioengineered AMSilk, a fossil fuel-free silk alternative inspired by the remarkable strength of spider silk, shape sculptural forms that pursue improbable lightness and reveal themselves in 360 degrees.​ Discover the collection on https://lnkd.in/ePPThYYt
