For Spring-Summer 2027, Nigo returns to Place des Victoires, the historic Parisian square where Kenzo Takada opened his first boutique in 1976. It was here, at number 3 on this circular square, that the designer first introduced his vision to the world — and welcomed everyone in. Fifty years later, the Place informs Nigo’s vision as reference, motif, and guiding spirit. This is a collection of meeting points, in which sportswear and romance, hard and soft, masculine and feminine, the archival and innovative converge. There is a sense of serendipitous encounter here, a way of dressing which feels confident, eclectic, even accidental. In his ongoing dialogue with the Kenzo archive, Nigo draws inspiration from images of Kenzo Takada himself, as well as 1970s icons such as Miles Davis. Layered silhouettes, pointed collars, and dandy tailoring translate the effortless elegance of the era to a contemporary wardrobe. Ivy League references appear through varsity jackets, rugby shirts, heritage insignia, and collegiate ribbon motifs, extending themes that have become synonymous with Nigo's vision for the Maison. Familiar sportswear archetypes are reimagined through unexpected gestures: a knitted rugby shirt becomes a floor-length gown, sequined varsity detailing migrates across jackets and footwear.
