As of yesterday, I get to write a little ® next to my business name: Artful Math®! It’s a milestone of sorts, and it has me reflecting on the journey getting here — starting back in the internet stone age with Smart First Graders in html, morphing into Growing Smart Kids, and eventually becoming Artful Math. My Miss Brain’s Cool Math Games book came about because so many parents and teachers were looking for fun math. Then cats entered the picture, and Kitten Math was born. It’s funny how one thing leads to another. What felt random at the time now feels like this is exactly where I was meant to arrive. These days I get weekly letters from club kids writing to Sammy Cat, and when parents reply to my emails it often feels like hearing from old friends. Honestly, the trademark itself wasn't really a big deal to me at first — but it turned into an excuse to reflect on this surprising little journey. I wrote more about it here: https://lnkd.in/gYi5RfZi
