Luke Hochgesang is a Kelley alum, who served as KSG President during the 2016-2017 school year. He is currently an Associate at L.E.K. Consulting in the Chicago office. In addition, he runs a community-focused tech start-up call GradGrid. Over the summer, with the pandemic leading to less travel, Luke has enjoyed sticking around Chicago and fishing Lake Michigan. As a member of KSG, Luke offered a lot to the organization and its development. As a freshman, he executed on the 1st-ever “Mr. and Mrs. Kelley” pageant. He then went on to serve as the Treasurer of the organization as a sophomore and helped create the inaugural Kelley 5k, after which he decided to run the organization as President during his junior year. Apart from his work in KSG, he was involved in several organizations throughout campus: OVPUE Advisory Board, Kelley Guides, Student Philanthropy Council, and Sigma Phi Epsilon. An “IU fun fact” about Luke is that he had the privilege of meeting all the Kelley building namesakes: Ed Kelley, Bill Godfrey, and Conrad Prebys. In closing, Luke’s biggest piece of advice comes from ‘Venture Capital & Entrepreneurial Finance’ Professor Gerry Hays: “Risk failure for something you love, rather than ensuring success for something you hate.” #alumni #consulting
