Yesterday, we welcomed Wikipedia Founder Jimmy Wales in London for a wide-ranging conversation on how purpose-driven communities and responsible technology shape the way information is created and trusted. Jimmy spoke about the principles that have guided Wikipedia for more than two decades: a clear mission, a strong contributor community and a consistent commitment to neutrality. His insights on transparency, civility and the management of misinformation offered valuable lessons for communicators navigating today’s reputational landscape. He also shared a balanced perspective on Generative AI, including how it can support quality and efficiency, where it still falls short and why human judgment remains essential for credible knowledge-sharing. We are grateful to Jimmy for joining us and for highlighting themes further explored in his new book, "The Seven Rules of Trust". Thanks also to Michael White for moderating, and to all attendees for taking the time to join us during an especially busy time of year. A timely reminder of why trust and clarity of purpose are essential in today’s evolving information landscape.
