š How can mobile robots reliably support people in intralogistics? A follow-me robot sounds simple: š The robot follows an employee and transports materials. In reality, this is one of the most challenging tasks in mobile robotics. Dynamic environments, temporary occlusions, and multiple people moving simultaneously make reliable person tracking difficult. To address this challenge, KEBA is collaborating with the Hagenberg Campus - FH Upper Austria on a research project focused on robust person tracking. š” Our approach: sensor fusion. By combining LiDAR, cameras, and AI, we aim to enable reliable tracking even in complex production and warehouse environments. Why does this matter? ā More efficient order picking ā Reduced physical strain during material transport ā More intuitive human-robot interaction The first demonstrator is already in operation, and field tests in KEBA production are coming soon.
