As part of IGNITE Thailand’s ongoing efforts, led by Leona, IGNITE Thailand coordinating lead, to support and advance women leaders, we recently hosted our capability-building session, Stepping into the Boardroom: What It Takes and How to Prepare, led by Laura Ashton, CEO of Low Carbon Advisors and independent non-executive director. A key message from the session was clear: board service is not about status or title, but about stewardship, accountability, and creating sustainable value for all stakeholders. Participants explored what effective board leadership looks like, from governance responsibilities and fiduciary duties to board readiness and the capabilities organizations seek in board members. Through self-reflection, peer coaching, and case studies, they also reflected on their own leadership journeys and board aspirations. At IGNITE Thailand, we are committed to creating opportunities for learning, connection, and leadership development. Thank you to Laura Ashton and all participants for making this session a success.
