πŸ«€ 120 students. One vision: to make research accessible. This weekend, the KCL Cardiothoracic Surgery Society hosted its largest event yet – the 2025 Research Hackathon, bringing together more than 120 passionate medical students to spark ideas, collaboration and innovation in cardiovascular research. Medical students are capable of extraordinary things. All they need is guidance, mentorship and opportunity, and this event set out to prove exactly that. Founded by our President Sukruth K. and VP Ali, and powered by our dedicated committee, students worked in teams of four to develop systematic reviews and original research proposals under the guidance of our fantastic mentors: Rasi Mizori , Hamid R. K. Mansour , Rhea S. , Ali Malik and Sukruth. We are especially grateful to Dr. Amar Rai for his vision, encouragement and belief in our students, which helped make this event both possible and deeply inspiring. This was more than a competition. It was a statement: when students are empowered, innovation follows. Here’s to a future where every student has the chance to create, discover and lead. Special thanks to our dedicated CTSS committee: Maryam, Aditya, Mithil, Anisha, Amelie, Lavan, Seb, Jibran, Christine, Uneza and Hafsa
