Meta has introduced a model that some are referring to as a "digital twin of the human brain". However, this characterisation is misleading, and the gap between these claims is where the real risk lies. 🤔 TRIBE v2 does not have the capability to read thoughts. Instead, it predicts, on average, which images, sounds, and words are most likely to capture human attention. While this is a more modest claim, it is also significantly more commercially valuable and poses a greater risk of misuse. The real danger does not stem from mind-reading; it arises from confusing a population-level prediction with individual truth. This misunderstanding can lead to the development of advertising, hiring practices, or policies based on inaccurate assumptions. I have written a brief piece discussing what the model actually does, its genuine scientific value, and the necessary guardrails that should be in place before anyone considers a predicted brain response as a fact.  #ArtificialIntelligence #Neurotechnology #AIEthics #ResponsibleAI #Neuroscience #TechPolicy #DigitalPrivacy #Innovation #UAEAI #DubaiTech #USAAI #Meta  Link in comments.
