Doctoral Researcher in Bibliotherapy & YA Literature | Teacher | Author | Literary Scholar | Specialising in fiction as therapeutic practice | PhD

الحمد لله الذي بِنِعْمَتِهِ تتم الصالحات وبشكره تدوم النعم. It is with profound humility and deep intellectual satisfaction that I share that I have successfully been awarded the degree of Doctor of Philosophy at University of Limerick This milestone concludes five years of sustained academic inquiry, creative labour, and personal transformation. My doctoral thesis, completed at the University of Limerick, is entitled: “Unveiling the Therapeutic Potential of Fiction: An Empirical Literary Investigation of Bibliotherapy to Extract Writing Recommendations for YA Genre Novels.” This research positioned fiction not solely as artistic expression, but as an instrument of therapy, a space where language becomes medicine, and narrative becomes refuge. I wish to express my deepest gratitude to the Algerian Government, whose generous support made this doctoral journey possible. My sincere thanks extend to my supervisor, Prof. Barrie Wharton, whose intellectual guidance and unwavering encouragement have profoundly shaped both this research and my development as a scholar. I am equally indebted to my external examiner, Dr Alicia Castillo Villanueva, and internal examiner Dr Clíona Hensey for their rigorous engagement, thoughtful critique, and invaluable feedback, which strengthened the work immeasurably. I am also deeply appreciative of my viva chair Dr Maria del Mar Palomares Marin for her gracious professionalism. My sincere gratitude extends to my parents, my husband, and all those whose support, belief, and presence accompanied me through every season of this journey…thank you. Your encouragement lives within every page. This doctorate bears my name, but in every meaningful way, it is ours. #PhD #DoctorOfPhilosophy #Bibliotherapy #FictionAsCare #AcademicResearch #YAfiction #UniversityOfLimerick #WritingCommunity #creativewriting #Algeria #AcademicAchievement Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Limerick UL Global UL Research
