At the occasion of World Engineering Day, I had the pleasure of sharing my experiences as a female engineer in a predominantly male working environment — something I’ve now been navigating for more than 30 years... My main takeaway? Happily, a lot has changed since the day I first applied for a job in the dredging industry and once I got in, I’ve been enjoying every day of it 😊. So, a very warm thank you to you, Mahya Roustaei from Ghent University, for inviting me, along with some very interesting fellow female engineers (mieke fordeyn, Greet Deruyter, Monika De Vos) to be part of this nice event !
