I am glad to share with you my latest conversation with a collector who, in his own words, "came for the money, stayed for the art." That single sentence probably captures the journey of many in the new generation of on-chain art collectors. In my latest interview for Collecting Art Onchain, I sat down with Christian Heeg We discuss how value emerges in on-chain art, what preservation actually means in a decentralized world, and why the future of digital culture may depend on holding the line between increasingly centralized AI and the open infrastructure of blockchain. What I found most interesting wasn't what Chris collects, but how he thinks. His collection is built around ideas: decentralization, provenance, public goods, and the belief that culture is something we participate in, not simply consume. One observation stayed with me: "The artwork no longer ends at the image. It extends into the network that produced it." If you're interested in where collecting art is actually heading, not just what is selling, I hope you'll enjoy the conversation. I know I did. https://lnkd.in/dv57S2eR #ContemporaryArt #DigitalArt #OnChainArt #ArtCollectors #Collectingart #Blockchain #Ethereum #AIArt #Web3 #DigitalCulture #collectorsfocus #technology #contemporaryart
