Last week we headed off to East Sussex for a team offsite. A few days to celebrate successes, strengthen connections and discover that some of my colleagues have hidden talents that definitely aren’t listed on LinkedIn! ⚡️ One of the things I love most about this team is the mix of people, some I’ve worked with almost 10 years, and others who are just beginning their journey. Somehow, within a few days, it felt like we’d all known each other for ages! Highlights included : ☀️ Sunshine. Actual sunshine. In Britain. During a team offsite. ⚽️ Watching the England game together, witnessing several colleagues confidently explain football tactics 🧑‍🍳 Being thoroughly spoiled by our culinary geniuses, who somehow produced restaurant quality food for the entire team 🏃🏼‍♀️ Sports Day organised by Charlotte, featuring elite athletic events such as welly wangling and tug of war, where dignity was lost but team spirit was gained 🥎 A ‘friendly’ game of rounders that remained completely non-competitive right up until someone kept score #chriswhiteisntoutishe? 🎂 Celebrating a new starters birthday with cake, because nothing says ‘welcome to the team’ quite like having everyone sing at you - then it being shared it on LinkedIn Dan Hornby! It’s easy to focus on targets, projects and results, but these moments are a reminder that the best part of any job is the people. The laughs, the stories, the “friendly” competition 😏, and getting the chance to connect away from Teams call and calendars. Thank you to everyone who made it happen! Now back to reality.
