Today is India Giving Day :) Powered by the India Philanthropy Alliance, this initiative brings together remarkable organisations working to improve the future of India across sectors including education, health, climate, livelihoods, and technology. At Karya, we are honoured to be part of this collective effort alongside many organisations doing deeply important work. As AI systems increasingly shape economies and public infrastructure, it is critical that the technologies shaping our future reflect the people they are meant to serve. Yet many communities whose languages and lived realities should inform these systems remain absent from the data that trains them, creating both economic exclusion and technological blind spots. Karya works to address this gap by enabling underserved communities to participate directly in building AI systems. Through our platform, people contribute speech and language data in their own languages, helping ensure these technologies are built with communities and reflect the diversity of the societies they serve, while earning meaningful income.
