At the start of medical school, research felt like a locked room.ย  Everyone talked about โ€œpublications,โ€ but no one explained how to get involved. I watched others get experience, some through family friends, others through opportunities I hadnโ€™t heard of. I felt behind.ย  So I did the only thing I could: I wrote cold emails. Dozens of them. Most didnโ€™t reply. A few replied politely, but said no. Eventually, one said yes, and that yes changed everything.ย It led to a project that culminated in my ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ซ๐ฌ๐ญ ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐›๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, working on virtual wards and remote patient monitoring.ย For the first time, I saw how research could influence healthcare policy and redesign the way care is delivered, and I was part of that change. From there, I kept building on every opportunity.ย I joined the Imperial Health Impact Lab, worked on national studies in AI and digital health, presented my work in the UK and US, and received awards from globally recognized institutions. But none of this wouldโ€™ve happened without that first opportunity. It made me realize: there are so many brilliant students out there who never get that chance. Not because theyโ€™re not good enough, but because no one opened the door for them. Thatโ€™s why I teamed up with Dr. Sammy Arab, M.D. Arab, current Research Fellow at Mayo Clinic and a graduate of Imperial College London Medical School. Together, we co-foundedย TheMedNex, the answer to the question:ย โ€œ๐˜ž๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜ช๐˜ง ๐˜ณ๐˜ฆ๐˜ด๐˜ฆ๐˜ข๐˜ณ๐˜ค๐˜ฉ ๐˜ธ๐˜ข๐˜ด๐˜ฏโ€™๐˜ต ๐˜ข๐˜ฃ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ฐ ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ฌ๐˜ฏ๐˜ฆ๐˜ธ, ๐˜ฃ๐˜ถ๐˜ต ๐˜ธ๐˜ฉ๐˜ข๐˜ต ๐˜บ๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ ๐˜ค๐˜ฐ๐˜ถ๐˜ญ๐˜ฅ ๐˜ฅ๐˜ฐ?โ€ TheMedNex ๐ข๐ฌ ๐œ๐จ๐ฆ๐ฉ๐ฅ๐ž๐ญ๐ž๐ฅ๐ฒ ๐…๐‘๐„๐„.ย Whether youโ€™re just starting out with zero experience, or youโ€™ve already done research, there is space for you.
