Bold and crazy ideas are easy to dream — but turning them into something real, reliable, and human is the hardest part. Today, my team at Amazon announced the Amazon Delivery Smart Glasses at #DeliveringTheFuture in SF. It has been one of the most humbling journeys our team has undertaken. Anyone familiar with #AR and #Wearables tech will recognize the depth and complexity involved in building a product like this. AR has long promised magic, but bringing it to life for one of the most challenging use cases at an unprecedented scale means solving for all-day wearability comfort, precision, saftey and industrial grade ruggedness— all in one seamless experience that flows. What doesn’t meet the eye is the more than a dozen new inventions and novel approaches across software, hardware, #computervision, localization and #geospatial tech — and this is still a prototype! Watching this technology come alive and hearing feedback from delivery associates has been surreal. I’ve never been prouder of the brilliant teams who made it possible.
