One of my roles at the Harvard Graduate School of Education is organizing social events and hangouts for our African community, both within HGSE and across Harvard. πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸ‡°πŸ‡ͺπŸ‡ΏπŸ‡ΌπŸ‡ͺπŸ‡¬πŸ‡²πŸ‡¬ As the end of the semester is approaching, I’ve been feeling a bit bittersweet. Coming from Madagascar, I’ve experienced what it means to be underrepresented, not just in numbers, but in visibility, in access, and in the paths that lead to places like University of California, Berkeley and Harvard University. There are still so few of us here, and behind every one of us is a journey shaped by barriers, sacrifices, and resilience. That’s why this work has been so deeply personal and meaningful to me. Grateful ! 🀍
