‼️Every 10 minutes, a woman is killed by an intimate partner or a member of her own family. Every 3 seconds, a girl is forced into marriage somewhere in the world, and for many of them, school ends that same day. Nearly 650 million women alive today were married before the age of 18. Meanwhile, for decades, medical research has largely focused on male bodies, meaning many diseases, treatments, and medications were studied primarily on men. The result? Women’s symptoms are more likely to be dismissed, their conditions misunderstood, and their pain underestimated. Unfortunately, I could go on. And the consequences are not only individual, they shape entire societies. 💛 Hi, I’m Kanto Raveloson, and I have also always been a women’s rights advocate. I grew up in Madagascar, where I saw and lived how inequality shapes women’s lives. My mother, like many women, could not finish high school. 🇲🇬In Madagascar, too many girls are still pulled out of school too early. Some are pushed into early or forced marriages before they even have the chance to imagine their futures. Others grow up in environments where opportunities quietly close for girls long before their potential has a chance to unfold without even mentioning the realities of violence, misogyny, and discrimination many face. Many people do not realize how deep the consequences go, how they determine whether a girl can stay in school, whether a woman can earn an income, access healthcare, or simply live without fear. Education changed the trajectory of my life. But I know that for millions of girls around the world, that door is still closed. Progress has been made. But there’s still a long way to go: and it starts with you and I! 👉 Such as educating ourselves about the realities women face every day, holding those around us accountable when necessary, speaking up when possible, continuing to raise awareness, and lifting women up. 🚀 And until every girl has the chance to learn, grow, lead, and live without fear or limitation, the work is not finished. #internationalwomensday
