I thought AI would make Product Managers obsolete. Then I watched a senior PM spend 6 hours writing a PRD. An AI-native PM created a better first draft in 25 minutes. That was the moment everything changed. A few years ago, Product Managers were valued because they could: • Write PRDs • Analyze customer data • Build roadmaps • Prioritize backlogs • Run stakeholder meetings Today? AI can produce a solid first draft for almost every one of those tasks. The uncomfortable truth isn’t that AI is replacing Product Managers. It’s that AI is replacing the repetitive work that never made great PMs exceptional in the first place. The best Product Managers were never paid for typing documents. They were paid for judgment. For asking the one question nobody else thought to ask. For uncovering customer pain before dashboards revealed it. For making difficult trade-offs when every option looked reasonable. For aligning engineering, design, business, and customers around one shared vision. AI can generate 20 feature ideas. A great Product Manager knows which 19 to reject. That’s the real competitive advantage. The role isn’t disappearing. It’s evolving faster than most people realize. The Product Managers who will thrive over the next five years won’t necessarily know the most frameworks. They’ll know how to combine AI with critical thinking, customer empathy, business strategy, and product intuition. Every week, I replace one repetitive task with AI. Not because I want AI to do my job. Because I want to spend more time doing the part of the job AI can’t: Thinking deeply. Making better decisions. Creating products customers genuinely love. The future doesn’t belong to PMs who fear AI. It belongs to PMs who learn to lead with it. The question isn’t whether AI will change Product Management. The question is whether you’ll change before the role does. 👇 What’s the one Product Management task AI has transformed the most for you? #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ProductManagement #ProductManager #GenerativeAI #AIAgents #FutureOfWork #Innovation #Leadership #Tech #CareerGrowth #DigitalTransformation
