🌍 The Middle East is no longer simply exporting capital. It is increasingly shaping where global capital goes. That was one of my strongest takeaways from our latest A&O Shearman Global M&A Insights. Despite geopolitical uncertainty, Middle East sovereign investors have continued to deploy capital into AI, digital infrastructure and strategic sectors, while the UAE remains an attractive destination for inbound investment. Having spent almost two decades advising investors in the region, one trend is becoming increasingly clear. 📉 Many of the world’s largest investment decisions now have a Middle East dimension. As investment strategies become increasingly global, boards are placing greater emphasis on transaction structuring, governance, cross-border regulatory approvals and investment platform design – not simply valuation. Legal strategy has become part of investment strategy. If these trends are featuring in your boardroom or investment committee discussions, I’d be delighted to continue the conversation.
