🚀 We are thrilled to finally announce that our team – Jan Heyer, Sebastian V. Jansen and myself – is receiving funding as part of the highly competitive GO-Bio next initiative! 💡Launched by the German Ministry of Research, Technology and Space (Bundesministerium für Forschung, Technologie und Raumfahrt) and managed by Projektträger Jülich (PtJ), this funding program is specifically designed to advance highly-innovative life science research towards commercial application. In our project “BioLung”, we are developing a novel approach for creating bionic artificial lungs for the treatment of severe lung dieseases to achieve: -         Higher efficiency 📈 -         Improved biocompatibility 🧬 -         Reduced complication risk 🛡️ beyond the conventional hollow fibre membrane oxygenators. 🔬With this substantial support, we will focus on designing, fabricating, and evaluating our new approach all the way up to pre-clinical tests. This critical step will pave the way for subsequent company founding and medical device certification. We are also happy that Elias Nathan Huppertz and Kevin Ebers have recently joined our team at the AME - Institute of Applied Medical Engineering (Cardiovascular Engineering - CVE) to support us on this exciting journey!
