Freshman year notes scribbled on a laptop while a professor talks too fast to keep up with. That frustration became a company now worth crores. Rudy Arora and Sarthak Dhawan met in middle school in the Dallas suburbs. They landed at different colleges, Northwestern and Duke, and ran into the same problem every student knows. Trying to focus on a lecture and take good notes at the same time never quite works. So they built an app. Record the lecture, add whatever you are studying, and AI turns it into notes, flashcards, and quiz questions. The first thousand users did not come from an ad budget. They came from cookies handed out in the dining hall in exchange for a download. Then TikTok took over. One video went viral, growth followed, and by the end of sophomore year, they were full-time founders. Today their startup is worth ₹124 crore. They did not set out to build something they would drop out of college for. They just wanted to build something useful enough to pay for their own tuition.
