Two intense days at ExpoSun in Guayaquil — and one clear takeaway: The energy transition in Latin America is accelerating fast. Guayaquil, Ecuador’s industrial and economic center, brought together utilities, EPCs, IPPs, investors, technology providers and engineering teams from across the region. The level of technical discussion and market interest throughout the event was impressive. For us at KACO new energy GmbH, the focus was clearly on microgrids, grid integration and intelligent energy management. Together with our partners, we contributed with technical presentations covering: • Microgrid control and management • PPC and EMS integration • Challenges and opportunities in distributed generation • Future requirements for resilient energy infrastructure What stood out most during the conversations: ⚡ Demand for distributed generation and storage solutions is growing rapidly ⚡ Utilities and industrial players are actively preparing for larger renewable integration ⚡ Technical reliability and long-term service quality are becoming increasingly important in purchasing decisions CNEL’s outlook alone shows the scale of the opportunity ahead: more than 5 GWp of solar and a similar volume of BESS expected over the next three years in Ecuador.
