Managing Director Beacon Security and Intelligence Limited
In this article, I analyse the June 24, 2026 interview between Sebastian Gorka Ph.D., Senior Director for Counterterrorism at the US National Security Council, and Marissa Streit on PragerU’s Real Talk platform. For #Nigeria and the wider #Sahel, the claims in the #interview carry practical significance. They underscore the potential of deepened, results-oriented bilateral security cooperation focused on intelligence fusion, coordinated operations, and exploitation of captured materials to degrade #ISWAP and affiliated networks. The emphasis on precision targeting and rapid exploitation cycles offers useful reference points as we advance our own Security Sector Reform priorities, particularly in strengthening inter-agency coordination, early warning mechanisms, and the integration of multi-domain capabilities. At Beacon Security and Intelligence Limited, we have long advocated intelligence-led, proactive risk management and sovereign partnerships that deliver tangible security dividends while respecting national ownership. The demonstrated US commitment to neutralising shared threats, when paired with Nigerian strategic agency, can accelerate progress toward a more stable security outcomes and a more resilient regional security architecture. I would be interested in the perspectives of fellow practitioners and policymakers: How might Nigeria best position itself to maximize the opportunities arising from this evolving cooperation while advancing our broader governance and reform objectives?
