Jury Spotlight: Andrea Böhmert ▶️ Few investors have worked across the full venture journey — from sourcing and backing ambitious founders, to helping companies scale internationally, navigate boards, and ultimately reach successful exits. Andrea Böhmert is one of them. A seasoned venture capital investor and company builder, Andrea is the Managing Partner of SBI Ventures Europe, the European venture and growth investment platform of SBI Holdings, one of Japan’s leading financial services groups. Her work focuses on the future of finance: the regulated infrastructure, digital asset platforms, payment rails, data layers, banking technologies and AI-enabled financial applications that are redefining how value moves through the global economy. ▶️A Career Built on Scaling and Exits: Andrea has spent more than 20 years in venture capital and growth investing, raising and managing multiple VC funds, completing more than 40 investments, and serving on close to 30 company boards. Her experience spans the full investment lifecycle — from identifying category-defining companies early, to helping them professionalise, scale across markets, build strategic relevance and position for exit. Before joining SBI Ventures Europe, Andrea was a Partner at one of South Africa's most prominent VC firms, Knife Capital, where she helped scale innovation-driven companies internationally. Earlier in her career, she held executive and strategic roles at Siemens South Africa and Dimension Data, and founded Hasso Plattner Ventures Africa, backed by SAP co-founder Hasso Plattner. Today, Andrea is building bridges between European financial innovation and the global SBI ecosystem. She is deeply focused on the role of venture capital in shaping the next generation of finance — backing the companies building the infrastructure, intelligence and trusted systems on which tomorrow’s financial economy will run.
