Achieve great results with high performance teams. Forming a high-performance team does not happen by coincidence. It takes time and deliberate leadership. As a leader you can benefit from getting inspiration from sports, special forces and fighter pilots etc. where the power of teams is deliberately being developed. A great example to learn from is when the Lincoln College Boat Club at Oxford University formed their W2 boat team for the Summer Eights 2025. Standing on the sideline, literally on the bank, we witnessed how they went through pre-forming, forming, norming and storming phases reaching performance at the Summer Eights 2025. We saw how they achieved their goal this year “rowing through” and heard their loudly celebrations. This first achievable goal was the first in a row of coming series of achievements. During this winter the W2 team will add new team-members to the core team and train hard to develop into a high-performance team for the Summer Eights 2026. It's a great learning to see how Lincoln College Boat Club uses a "Pre-Forming, Forming, Norming, Storming, Performing" principle - and achieve great results, - while having fun. Btw. We will be there next year at the Summer Eights 2026, still standing on the bank in Oxford, and see the team progress to achieving great results.
