Reducing energy store by store โœ… ๐Ÿ‘‰ Over the past 18 months, we have tested how smarter control of heating, cooling, lighting and ventilation can reduce energy consumption in JYSK stores across several countries. The result is our Smart Store concept ๐Ÿ’ก Results from our test stores show that energy consumption per store can be reduced by up to 20โ€“25% by optimising our existing installations. โ€œOur Smart Store concept is about creating a more standardised and automated approach, where data helps ensure that energy is used where and when it is needed. The advantage of our Smart Stores is that it gives us greater monitoring of energy consumption from a central level while reducing the dependence on manual routines in individual stores,โ€ says Anders Klestrup, Head of Real Estate, Building Solutions & Operations at JYSK. And today, we opened our newest Smart Store in Getafe, Spain, built with the results from our test stores in mind. For example, a JYSK Smart Store takes weather forecasts into account and only uses heating when it is actually needed. This, along with other automated processes, supports our ambition to reduce scope 1 and 2 emissions by 50.4% by FY32, as approved by the Science Based Targets initiative. It also reflects our values of being cost-conscious while continuing to grow our store network.
