Employee-Generated Content (EGC) and visual hooks may be big trends today… but for JYSK, it’s old news 💡 👉 In the 1980s, our founder Lars Larsen took a new approach to advertising. Rather than paid actors, he put himself and other colleagues in front of the camera to make JYSK’s first TV commercials. The old commercials lasted only 10 seconds. In that time, Lars Larsen needed to grab people’s attention quickly which sometimes led to some impressive visual hooks. For example, by letting two colleagues throw him onto a water bed like in the commercial below 📺 Many Danish advertising agencies laughed at his straightforward style, humour, and authenticity, because that was not the trend back then. But like many other things regarding JYSK, Lars Larsen had the upper hand in the end and the commercials are today a part of Danish marketing history. #JYSK #LarsLarsen
