Mimurotoji Azaleas 三室戸寺のつつじ Azaleas of Mimurotoji Temple  Mimurotoji Temple, in Uji (near Kyoto) is probably most famous for thee hydrangea garden that is near the temple entrance, but they also have a plum grove and an azalea garden on the mountainous side of the temple that are quite remarkable and don't get the crowds of people that you see during hydrangea season - this is probably because people are busy looking for cherry blossoms Mimurotoji's azalea season in mid-April.
