Who remembers the mad party that was Bread & Butter Barcelona 20 years ago this weekend (5-7 July 2006)? Community was the theme of the exceptional trade fair's marketing campaign for the SS07 selling season. It used (without asking permission, as far as I am aware!) shots of visitors and exhibitors from its previous events in Berlin and Barcelona for collages that appeared in the trade press (inc Drapers) before the event and then on billboards around the Fira de Barcelona during the three-day mayhem. I was amused to find myself up on one of the posters (in my Mk 1 spex) at the venue. Happy days, long ago, never to be repeated. Who has memories of more than a decade of Bread & Butter shows?
