I am pleased to share that my thesis has been published in the Royal Danish Library Det Kgl. Bibliotek | Royal Danish Library My research explores how leadership is enacted and translated in everyday practices within G4S Bangladesh, focusing on managerial and supervisory levels in outsourced security services. Rather than viewing leadership solely as a function of individual traits or styles, the study examines leadership as an ongoing, practical activity embedded in daily coordination, interpretation, and decision-making. Using a qualitative case study approach, the findings show that leadership emerges through actions such as translating client and organizational requirements into site-specific practices, coordinating day-to-day operations, making sense of uncertainty, and negotiating expectations within structured environments. These practices play a critical role in achieving operational excellence, particularly in highly routine and compliance-driven contexts. The study contributes to the development of Leadership-as-Practice and Sensemaking theories in the underexplored setting of private security outsourcing in an emerging economy. It also offers practical insights into improving supervisory processes, communication, and operational consistency.
