An event marketer for a top brand sent me a message last week. A massive revenue target for their event. Little budget. Zero management support. An infinite flow of stereotypes about events. You know, the good old ‘events are expensive,’ ‘events are easy,’ ‘build it, and they will come.’ Here is an easy-to-share framework of how events have changed in the past few years. Use it to blame it on me. Share it with your boss to get buy-in. But also remember. You must build a business case for a trackable and engaging event. There is no nice graphic that will fill that gap. What did I miss? P.S. Every Wednesday, event marketers from Amazon, Apple, Google, Meta, NVIDIA, Johnson & Johnson, Visa and Salesforce read my newsletter. Join us. It’s free. Link is at the top, next to my name.
