👩🏻‍💻 A few years ago, I was involved in a major M&A deal as an in-house lawyer. It was one of those defining projects, complex, global, and filled with high-stakes discussions. It also was an exciting journey that deeply shaped my development, sharpening my legal skills and expanding my perspective. ❓ During that time, there was couple of recurring questions we addressed with competition and antitrust authorities in several key jurisdictions such as: 🍽️ How do we feed 10 billion people by 2050? 🌎 How do we ensure food security across continents and realities? 🔬 How can we make sure agricultural companies continue to invest in R&D? 🌾 🇧🇷 These questions stayed with me ever since and as a technology enthusiastic I always believed that agriculture is at the heart of the answer, particularly in a country like Brazil, where its potential is unmatched and still has a lot of space to grow. 🌱 The journey to global food security begins with something as simple and powerful as a seed, combined with all the technology involved to create new varieties (with high-protein, drought tolerance, producibility, etc). 🎧 Recently, I came across a very interesting podcast that dives deep into this topic: State of Seed, produced by the International Seed Federation. The second season just launched, and it’s worth a listen even if you don’t work in agribusiness. It connects the dots between seeds, international trade, regulation, and the future of food with insights from global experts. A great companion for your commute or coffee break. Let me know what you think! #Agribusiness #FoodSecurity #SeedsMatter #ISF #ESG #StateOfSeed #Sustainability #Brazil #LegalInAgro
