Our chapter ‘Child sexual abuse in the Portuguese Catholic Church: What the ecclesiastical archives reveal about relations between the State and the Church’ (Júlia Garraio, Rita Almeida de Carvalho, Sérgio Ribeiro Pinto, Francisco Azevedo Mendes and Ana Nunes de Almeida) has just been published in Germany. It is based on the research we carried out as part of the Historical Research Group of the Independent Commission for the Study of Child Sexual Abuse in the Portuguese Catholic Church. The book in which it appears – ‘The Question of Catholic Specificity: Contemporary Historical Studies on Sexualised Violence’ – also includes several chapters on the Protestant Church https://lnkd.in/eUvRM4e4
