„No one becomes a world champion without training!“ Congratulations to all graduates of the Swiss Board Diploma and thank you to the excellent professors and speakers! Serving on a board is much more than a title, a prestige function, or a necessary formality. It comes with real responsibility for the company, its future, its employees, its shareholders and all stakeholders. What I valued in this six-month programme is that it makes this responsibility very tangible. It highlights the legal and fiduciary duties of board members, but also the positive contribution a well prepared and courageous board can make to long-term company success. Board work, when taken seriously, requires knowledge, judgement, preparation and commitment — just like any other demanding leadership role. The Swiss Board School contributes to Switzerlands high standards and strengthens Switzerland as a preferred country for global businesses.
