🌍 Addressing Europe’s Demographic Challenge – from insight to action A very engaging #TSI #Taiex peer-learning workshop in Brussels brought together colleagues and partners to reflect on one of Europe’s defining long-term challenges: #demographic change. Drawing on 🇪🇺 #TSI support across 9 Member States, the discussions highlighted a clear message: reforms are underway – but scale, integration and coordination are key. 🙏 Grateful for the strong contributions from partners at the OECD - OCDE , the The World Bank Group, and colleagues across the European Commission – including SG Reform, the Joint Research Centre, Cabinet Šuica and DG REGIO. ✨ Key takeaways: • Integrated strategies matter – from national demographic frameworks to multi-level governance tools (BG, EL, ES, RO, HR) • Systems must adapt – labour markets and social protection need to respond to ageing societies (LT, MT, PL, SI) • Data drives decisions – demographic observatories and evidence-based policymaking are becoming essential Above all, the discussion reinforced the need to move from fragmented responses to coordinated, long-term demographic resilience across Europe.
