Hoy cierro el círculo del monogatari de mi etapa predoctoral. [English version below] Me hace especial ilusión compartir la publicación del último trabajo que avala mi tesis doctoral defendida el pasado 16 de enero. Este artículo da continuidad a mi primera publicación como estudiante predoctoral y, de alguna manera, resume parte de mi recorrido de estos últimos años: acercar la medicina de precisión a la clínica empleando la ciencia de datos y la bioinformática. En este trabajo combinamos información de diferentes fuentes, biopsia líquida y biopsia sólida, para identificar biomarcadores que nos ayuden a estratificar aquellos pacientes con melanoma cutáneo metastásico que mejor se beneficien del tratamiento de inhibidores de puntos de control inmunitario. I am especially excited to share the publication of the latest work supporting my doctoral thesis, which I defended on January 16. This article continues the line of my first publication as a predoctoral student and summarises part of my journey over the past few years: bringing precision medicine closer to the clinic through data science and bioinformatics. In this work, we combined information from different sources (liquid biopsy and tissue biopsy) to identify biomarkers that help stratify patients with metastatic cutaneous melanoma who are most likely to benefit from immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy.
