Last week, I had the pleasure of travelling to Cabo Verde, in my first mission consulting as Investment Promotion Specialist for UNIDO, for the launch of the project “Building public-private partnerships to boost circular economy on the tourist island of Boa Vista – Cabo Verde”. This joint initiative is implemented by UNIDO together with the UN Environment Programme and UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme), under the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (2023–2027). Led locally by the Municipality of Boa Vista, in close coordination with national authorities, the project brings together businesses, public institutions and civil society in a truly collaborative effort. It was a privilege to meet and engage with these stakeholders, alongside UN colleagues, all joining forces to advance circular economy solutions and #SustainableDevelopment on the island. I look forward to continuing this collaboration and contributing to the sustainable future of Boa Vista – and the wider Cabo Verdean archipelago – through this impactful initiative. For my Lusophone colleagues, here is a local media article in Portuguese on the launch and its objectives: https://lnkd.in/d5ZPdY74 As our colleagues in Cabo Verde say: “Nu sta djunto!” / “Estamos juntos!” My sincere thanks to my UNIDO colleagues for the opportunity to work with such a nice team and contribute to truly impactful sustainable development projects like this.
